Nithyananda's Love Is Coming To Get Us

File under: Gurus Who Threaten

For those investigating Nithyananda, this is the type of devotee that he is attracting:
BAD KARMA has left a new comment on your post ""Nithyananda Is Not Who He Claims To Be"":

MR GURU BUSTING JODY RAZDIK..

Ur all safe here on the internet are nt you.. bad mouthing spiritual teachers and their followers..

Mr Razdik I now know everything about you including where you live.. U are not safe anymore.. I know who u are.. you dont who i am..

Do u believe in KARMA dude.. Ur going down one way or another.. someday our paths will cross and believe me you will not enjoy meeting me in person..
Nice. That's the love that Nithyananda is fostering among his devotees.

"By ye works (and devotees) ye will know him."

BTW: That's Radzik. "D" before the "z."

If Kracki's love could not get you, I doubt his younger brother Sri Nit's will be able to. :-D

He or (it) is probably right. You won't want to meet him. Neither would anyone else He sounds like an a*****e. So..let me get this straight. There is no bad Karma in threatening people?? I thought sri sri was bad but this guy and his followers like like a whole 'nother level of nut job.

To be fair, this guy may not be a Nithyananda devotee, just a person who likes to illegally threaten citizens exercising their right to free speech. He's not the first I've encountered. May God heal him.

just your everyday cult indoctrinated, kool aid drinking, modern day devotee...

though he does sound pretty threatening doesnt he?

good to see that he is practising peace and tolerance...

'May God heal him.'

I appreciate your compassionate response to this chap, Jody, but am concerned for your safety, nevertheless. I hope that you are being quite cagy as to your whereabouts, these deranged crazies of all political and religious affiliation will always be with us and always looking for a handy scapegoat for their fears and paranoias.
God may indeed heal him, but in the meantime protect yourself. I'm being quite selfish with my concern, I'd hate for you to stop blogging because of some addled nutter.
An Arab proverb that I find useful:
"Trust in god but tie up your camel"

Dear GuruPhiliac,
You invest so much time and energy trying to badmouth masters. I have attended may of programs offered by Nithyananda organisation and the amount of healing that has taken place is amazing. I would advice you to attend atleast one of his programs before spennding so much time on such negativity.

Any "miracles" or "healings" which occur in the context of a Nithyananda satsang are largely the result of either favorable interpretations of coincidental events or strong expressions of the placebo effect. The "magic" is entirely within the heart of the devotee. Nithyananda is nothing more than a prop, a stand-in that represents the inner power of the devotee. In this regard, he is utterly replaceable by anyone that has the guru "look" he so carefully cultivates.

If "the look" works so well, I see no need to replace either Nithyananda on stage as a conduit for that outpouring of faith, nor the devotees' conviction about his "powers".

The intelligent devotee is able to surrender totally to the phenomenon, even while knowing all along that his own faith is the real engine of transformation.

This is the unique attribute of the Indian bhakta mindset, which one day leads to clear realization about the Self. How wonderful it is as a practice!

Unless clouds of superstition occlude the clarity. Nithyananda is like a dirty-burning, coal-fired super-furnace in this regard. The devotees get to have their faith and its effects, but they aren't likely to see who they are as long as they're watching Nithyananda languor on his pedestal.

"This is the unique attribute of the Indian bhakta mindset, which one day leads to clear realization about the Self. How wonderful it is as a practice!" I can agree with you about this and it works well for a very few, which may be why traditional stories tell about a great Seer with a small handful of disciples, most of whom were jealous of each other. The problem comes when these spiritual entrepreneurs, whether in India or anywhere in the world, called Sly Baba, She She, Nithyananda, and hosts of others decide to sweep large numbers into their flocks. Then we have a great deal of financial crime, pedophilia, rape, and general enslavement going on in the name of bhakti. It only works with mature people, whether the guru is alive or dead.

Yes. Agree with you totally.

I am tired of this hyperbolic glorification ' indian bhakta mindset '.

Betty my thoughts exactly, the way Nithy has things set up it seems to me that the one with more money get closer to him therefore it sets up their org. for things like jealously and exploitation of individuals that either are poorer or ignorant. Nithy really has the best of both worlds in a sick way he has the uninhibited love of his Nithy zombies and continuos stream of financial backing coming from the wealthy members. Oh yeah one question guys Macbook Pro or Macbook Air? Sorry wrong blog jk.

In the last few days, BAD KARMA has been trying to leave comments here. He or she blew that privilege (and gained the notice of local law enforcement) when s/he threatened me.

However, I wanted to address a few of the points s/he tried to make in the first post attempt.

u claim to have liberated yourself from the clutches of the mind and have a reached higher states of living...

I've never claimed to have liberated myself. I've only claimed to be working from a sense of experiential reckoning of nondual truth that I've called jnana or self-realization. That can be anything from a bona-fide understanding of what is nondual about consciousness to a manifestation of mental pathology, depending on the views of my readers.

More importantly, I have NEVER—not once—claimed to have reached any "higher states of living." NEVER. It's always right here, right now, as if sitting on your nose. To see it or not is the question, rather than becoming something or going somewhere, or especially, getting anything.

According to what u "preach"... every other master including the likes of vivekananda and even patanjali were deluded..??

Any delusions they were under was entirely a function of their sociocultural container, rather than any lack in their state of understanding. Simply, to believe in siddhis, as they are rendered by Patanjali, is deluded. This shadow falls on them both, and pretty much any other guru who preaches these beliefs. One may know the clarity of the Atman yet still hold on to traditional beliefs whose source lies squarely in the Sea of Myth.

Raver and drug user Jody Radzik

You are referring to my appearance in the book "Cyberia," by my pal Doug Rushkoff. In this book, I functioned as a guide for Doug through the San Francisco rave scene, among several other of my friends at the time. In the book, I share my impression of the effects of MDMA when consumed at an event. Those who were there know that something truly magnificent was going down. To deride that as something that was merely drug-induced reflects a complete lack of wisdom, experience and an understanding of the psychedelic path, which has a very long history in India that almost certainly predates the Vedas.

This isn't to say that all drug-taking at the raves I attended was spiritual. Lots of folks got stuck in the honey pot, including myself. But generally, progress for the entire human race was made on those nights at those melas.

That said, I saw more than a few people get really fucked up by overdoing it. So remember kiddies: what's good for one can be a disaster for another.

I would also like to clarify with regard to my earlier post...This was said entirely on my own accord against What Jody is doing on this site and not particularly in support of Nithyananda...

That seems disingenuous, since you posted under a Nithyananda article, but whatever. That's the last thing you are saying on this blog.

Did you guys know there are sufficient laws to put fanatics and fundamentalists like these blog posters behind bars? I have heard that there have already been complaints to FBI and there is an investigation in progress.
There is news that these posters who abuse Nithyananda and other swamis are black magic practitioners who want to destroy hindu dharma and tradition.

I see the anti-Hindu card is being played, somewhat desperately, I might add. Any authorities have full and complete access to my life if they require it.

I am not anti-Hindu, but I am extremely skeptical of most all of the superstitious claims of Hinduism, as well as those for each and every other religion.

I am especially, fundamentally opposed to any superstitious notions which appear in any textual rendering of nondual enlightenment.

I perform no magic as I reject all notions of magic, black or white, miracle or curse... but the flailing attempt at a demonization has been noted.

BTW: Here in the States, no law enforcement organization investigates charges of black magic. It's called living in the modern world.

Funny how some of the Hindu fundamentalists that reply here think that anyone with a experiential issue with gurus is a rabid christian. Many of us were at some point better Hindus than themselves.
