Sikh Paper Sneers About Dera Baba
File under: Gurus Doin' Time and The Siddhi of PR
This sneering editorializing about sartorial-blunder guru Gurmit Singh Ram Rahim appears to be presented as a legitimate news item in The Panthic Weekly:
In a country where the innocent are persecuted, and the guilty are sheltered, the controversial Dera Sacha Sauda chief finally took a breath of relief as he was granted regular bail by a special CBI Court in Ambala this past week for his involvement in three highly publicized criminal cases. The lecherous saadh is undergoing a trial in two cases of murder and in one case of raping a saadhvi. The bail grant was criticized by Sikh organizations who blamed the Centre and the Indian Judiciary of shielding the rich and filthy with impunity.Obviously, this was written by the employees of the Punjabi Railroad Express, who are providing the rails and locomotive to run the Baba right into a life sentence, trumped up charges aside, for little more than dressing up as a revered Sikh patriarch.

hey, jody, way to go, seeing the "other side" of a story.... and just as this quoted blurb does seem a bit much, i will suggest that often the blurbs we all love you for mocking, such as the one in the prior post about sri x's 3 are often written by devotees, out to stoke their own pathetic egos by an association with someone that the higher they can extol, the greater they themselves are.... the "my guru is better than your guru" syndrome...
i fear devotees a lot more than i fear those to whom the devotees are devoted
enjoy
The baba did not go to jail because he dressed up as the tenth Guru. I would be ashamed if that happened.
There are several charges on him: Rape, murder etc. etc.
Many more Babas who have probably done much more wrong to the society go free as long as they support the "Badal government". Baba denied to support badal during elections. He sided with Congress. Badal won elections. This was not the first time that he dressed up like the guru.
Which is not to say that no Sikh is misguided in the world. There are in fact, many.
You can draw your own conclusions, choose not to trust me because I am a Sikh and I have a bias. But some research might be helpful. :)
"In a country where the innocent are persecuted, and the guilty are sheltered"
The above comes from the fact tha it's been over 20 years since the 1984 riots against Sikhs. Till date, no one has been punished, no official apology issued (as far as I know).
