For the second year in a row, Amma has ignored the plight of Los Angeles' working poor:

Ammachi although a beautiful lady is now obviously trapped by the need for the money to keep the various organizations going. I feel compassion for her. It would be impossible to stop now.
Why can't off-duty workers not get their hugs? Does the hotel own your off-duty time too ?
What would happen if a hotel worker had indeed went in (off-duty, uniform removed) and gotten a hug? Is the hotel management spying on your movement that you cannot go in for a hug after you went off your shift and removed your uniform - if you are really want a hug that much?
How about the other side of the story? Very easy to find for those who are eager to get a balanced perspective on life:
"Her event at the Hilton LAX was part of a two-year contract, Sidon said. If she had decided to change venues for the event, the cost "would have been untold" because of the money already raised, as well as a big disappointment for the people who had planned to come to that location, he said."
In learning of the boycott, Amma, "a foreigner" in the U.S., decided she didn't want to get involved in a local dispute, Sidon said.
"She felt it was inappropriate for her to get involved in a domestic labor dispute," Sidon said.
As she offered her embraces to awaiting visitors at the Hilton LAX Monday, June 18th, Amma said through her translator that she does not expect to receive anything in return from the people she hugs.
"I do not expect anything from the people," she said.
What makes Ammachi a "beautiful lady"? I don't get the whole thing and thought the event I went to at a friend's urging was pretentious and strange.
