Gov To Seek Guru For Britney Spears?

File under: Guru to the Stars

A wildly inaccurate story about that tumbling train-wreck of the decade, Britney Spears, (did you know she was married to Justin Timberlake?), finds remedy for her widely-reported troubles with the help of the governor-elect of Louisiana:
It is time Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal, took an initiative to rescue the prodigal daughter of the state from courting disaster, helping her overcome her problems. He could possibly persuade the greatest ever pop star to seek out a spiritual guru, in his country of origin. Hopefully, someone will succeed to do Spears what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi did to John Lennon, and make the world look up to India.
The only "guru" Bobby Jindal could recommend as a Republican would be a bible-thumping, homo-hating Evangelical minister. Generally, they rarely make good gurus.

Neither did the Maharishi.  All he "did to" John Lennon was piss him off, causing him to write the song Sexy Sadie to commemorate that time the TM™ guru tried to nail Mia Farrow (or her sister, as some purport.)

If Britney is to get a guru, she or he is going to have to come by someone else's recommendation. Someone who writes about gurus every day, perhaps?   We think we know just the man for the job...

Not Mia Farrow, Mia's sister, "Dear Prudence, won't you come out and play"......MMY tried to bang her; Mia was disgusted, as was Donovan and Paul and Ringo.......they high-tailed it out of India fast. George and John stayed..and wrote, "Dear Prudence".

They should send her to AA. It's another cult with predatory guru's.

Check out the 12 step free website.

My favorite part of the MMY/Farrow story... when Lennon went to Maharishi and told him he was leaving the ashram, MMY asked him why. And Lennon reportedly said, "You're the cosmic one; you figure it out."

Here's a reference to the whole Mia/MMY affair, from "The Beatles in Rishikesh":

Mia would later recount in her autobiographical book 'What Falls Away' that one day the Maharishi invited her to meditate with him, alone in his cave-like meditation room, in the basement of his bungalow. When they finished, and were standing up in the darkness, he wrapped his "hairy arms" around her in an embrace. Was it sexual or not? For sure, Mia felt it was. She bolted from the room, hurriedly packed her bags, quickly said goodbye to Prudence, and was out the ashram gate and gone. Sexual or not, the whole issue of the Maharishi's sexuality would later result in John and George leaving the ashram, and the Beatles leaving the Maharishi behind.

Britney's a guru to pre-teens in her own right, and she is seemingly following the same tightening and insane ego spiral that many gurus follow when they get inundated with fame, money, followers and media attention.

At least she lives her life and vices fully out in the open, so in that sense some gurus could learn from her.

There may be no helping Brit. But she's surely more in need of psychotherapy than the advice of a spiritual advisor. Now if she could find both of those in a qualified therapist, she might get back in business.

But at the same time, what if there is a spiritual guru who also can play with her psyche postively
-most of them does just that- then can that be appreciated too ?
