We're Just Wonderin'

File under: We're Just Wonderin'

Which high profile international devi may be putting down stakes in the guru capital of South India: Tiruvannamalai? Seems she's feeling the pull of her Motherland over what was once known as the Fatherland.

Hi Jody

Do you know anything about Leslie Temple-Thurston and CoreLight? She's based in Santa Fe.

I didn't until now. It's the usual BS, but since that's what people are buying, I can't really blame her for selling it. Actually, I can, but I don't see any reason to get in the way of her commerce.

Just back from a 'Midnight of the Shiva festival'. The pot was burning like a bonfire. There were some 20 odd 'nobodys' and plenty of prime weeds. All in the vicinity of Tiruvannamalai(about a mile away). The best part is no one spoke and none heard anything, but simply lost in the depths of silence, head up in the clouds of smoke...Om Namah Shivaya !

Betty!!!!
Ever heard of Tantrik Yoni Puja?

You have revealed your true colors all too well, semblance. Guess what many have noticed about Indian males may be true. Do you also beat your mother, I mean your woman? Or can you be satisfied just beating what passes for your meat?

~~~ C'mon petty ! I figure your obsession for mother springs from the fact that you were abandoned in the trashcan soon after your accidental birth.
Just like jesus missed his father.
Since you are an orphan and tend to like my mom so much, iam gonna let you access her.
She is a tough nut and lives in a ivory tower. Still worse she does not like ghetto bo bos. But if you are willing to have a detailed shower before meeting her, then she might consider you!
However, Yoni Puja has little to do with ur ol' disappeared momma but a lot to do with a raw, hard, tough and wacky pu$$y like you...woohoo!!! I can organize an exclusive initiation for you on the night of the darkest moon as the sarayu river running beneath your yoni washing your sins and all...
Semblance, I know from where you had picked up this filth. I mean definitely it was chuck and jody who taught you all this garbage.
I will not buy this even i were to come from a ghetto. Why are you so much against ghetto? Even in a ghetto theres humanity. You come to where I am and i can show you lives of hundreds and thousands of brothers and sisters living in harmony and peace. Hope you will accept me and my ghetto heritage after that. Till then you let your mother sing the lullaby for you.
~~~ I agree jody. When freedom is misused, it leads to self destruction. I had been a spoilt brat all my life. But this space provided me the freedom to express but i should know where to draw the line. Im sorry ! Looks like i need to throw my vanity along with my usual pot in to the bonfire tonight ! I miss chuck these days!

Hello semblance S O
i have been watching you for long time. I must commend your adacious ways to get attention here. You seem to have lots of brain but use it for just useless and meaningless things. If you had sincerely made an attempt to know the self, by now you would have realized the self but your focus is elsewhere, Think about it.
Are you indian or american? or both? if you are an indian, then i know the snobbish family you come from. The kind that gets dirty as it gets rich and lose respect for others as it gets famous.
You are definitely from some good family in india who have the previlege of money, power etc. But please dont behave in this manner and bring shame to indian culture.

Jody,

I have been posting here for a while now, having fun and enjoying the relationships. Certainly I have gotten out of hand a few times and several times someone other than me has written calling him/herself “betty”. The last post with my pen name was not written by me. I will refrain from any further “communication” with semblance, who I suspect is the false “betty”. You have my promise on that. If any other postings come in responding to semblance, it will not be from me.

PS

Bite me, semblance.

~~~~ Betty! On a serious note !
That was not me either. Im not ashamed to say whatever i want to say to you directly and vice versa.
Thanks to jody for stretching his upperlimit -or is it lowerlimit- each time i get badder and badder.
But like you, it is just fun and bonhomie to me too. I need not have to forge your name for that... It could be any Tom who is non participative but simply following the missives. I had warned you long before to register your name because this had happened to me too on a cuppla occasion and since then i got me doin' this damn thing with the blogspot.com. Get wiser betty !
Betty you need not respond to me
on the blog but my initiation proposal on the sarayu is still open....since you are upset with me, i would want to sponsor your whole trip ! (pot is added attraction)..shit.. thats me the brat again !
~~~~ Yes sir. But my dear Mr.culture vulture, Im neither an indian nor an american by culture.
People like you are actually responsible for what india has deteriorated to in the past 1000 years. Misinterpretation of vedic statements, to suit your own needs
have made rich get richer and poor get poorer in india. You have taught people to blame KARMA whenever something wrong happens and thereby NOT making an effort to improve oneself.

You must be a gandhian for all I know. You even sound like the indian politician who used to tell that "god is present only in the poor man's smile" and manage to get rich by keeping the people poor.

You people have allowed the invaders to loot and plunder India
and made her bankrupt. Ofcourse you have made your little percentage of cuts in that looting.

You people glorified nakedness and poverty in the name of culture and spirituality. You made gandhi to walk in his undi while he visited the british parliament in freezing cold and glorified it as indian culture.

You had misinterpreted 'detachment'
and 'dispassion' in vedas as
running away from life and made the whole country left swindled by the invaders.

You never knew detachment is to seperate you from your stupid mind and dispassion is not hatred.

If your kinda false and pseudo interpretation of vedas is what makes the indian culture today, then im the LEAST cultured. I dont mind being the most UNCULTURED in india or in america. I dont belong to any.

ANON said >>>> You are definitely from some good family in india who have the previlege of money, power etc.

~~~~ Thats your hangup. If someone has money and power, you think that theres something wrong.
Is living fully a crime?
In anycase you should know that this is a anti-cult blog and not a
pro-culture blog. I dont think
jody is trying to protect any culture here....
I'm trying to make clear the nondual truth of Vedanta – divorced from the superstition and speculation it is enshrouded in, whose sources are both Indian, American and whateverian.
Jody said>>>>>>>>>>I'm trying to make clear the nondual truth of Vedanta – divorced from the superstition and speculation it is enshrouded in,
~~~~~ Yes ! It is apparently true that you are doing some vaccum cleaning of vedanta here.
But i have some pertinent questions rising as i read your reply. Spare a moment and tell me what you have to. Perhaps these are some my basic questions which needs to be answered.

~~~~~ 1.Does non dual truth include the superstition and speculation? Or is it independent?
2.Can there be seperate exitence for maya or illusion which is the cause for superstition or speculation?
3.Non dual simply means undivided
one without second? If so aint the bafoonery of psuedo gurus are meant to be just that way and simply a part of the same truth?
4.If root under the earth is undivided consciousness, then the tree above is the divided mind and non duality is to realize that the root and tree and One and same?
5.Can the root alone have existence without the many shaped branches atop? Can the branches(superstitions and speculations) be called as false and non existence and independent of the root beneath?
6. whats the source for supersition and speculation ?
Where do they stem from? Do they have seperate source of existence which is independent of the non-dual truth?
7.What psyches the guru and disciple to beleive in them?
---------------------
At 2/18/2007 5:00 PM, Blogger jody said...
1.Does non dual truth include the superstition and speculation? Or is it independent?
The nondual truth includes everything. However, we can discriminate between what is superstition or conjecture and the nondual truth which exists as the basis of our identity. As the foundation of being, nondual truth is only composed of itself. The particulars of the world dissolve into it, yet it is not comprised of the particulars in any way at all.
2.Can there be seperate exitence for maya or illusion which is the cause for superstition or speculation?
It appears to be separate as what is separate is dependent on its separation to exist as something separate, and there is nothing separate about the nondual truth.
3.Non dual simply means undivided one without second? If so aint the bafoonery of psuedo gurus are meant to be just that way and simply a part of the same truth?
You are Advaita shuffling. Just because all is included in the nondual truth does not mean the nondual truth has anything at all to do with the baffoonery of gurudom. In other words, we are still able to discriminate between what is nondual truth and the nonsense spewed by fauxrus.
4.If root under the earth is undivided consciousness, then the tree above is the divided mind and non duality is to realize that the root and tree and One and same?
Self-realization is the moment and ongoing revelation of the nondual truth as it exists as the foundation of one's being. It has nothing to do with roots, trees or any other simile you can come up with. In other words, any model you come up with for the nondual truth has as much to do with it as my dog's ass.
So, one can know themselves as the nondual truth, directly and experientially, and yet still discriminate what is bullshit from what isn't with regards to the ideology of nonduality. This also includes discriminating between self and other, which is an indispensable utility for making one's way through life.
5.Can the root alone have existence without the many shaped branches atop? Can the branches (superstitions and speculations) be called as false and non existence and independent of the root beneath?
Another false simile. All is included in the nondual truth, yet the nondual truth is not comprised of any of the particulars, at all.
6. whats the source for supersition and speculation ?
The tendency of the human mind to come up with causality whether or not all the evidence is at hand.
Where do they stem from? Do they have seperate source of existence which is independent of the non-dual truth?
More Advaita shuffling. You cannot use the nondual truth to excuse ignorance.
7.What psyches the guru and disciple to beleive in them?
For the guru, they have utility. It keeps people coming back for the "shakti". It's the lure with which they fish for their marks.
The disciple is desperately seeking to be someone or something else. To believe in magic makes this seem possible.
.........................
Stated this way you give the appearance that only "false gurus" exist, whereas I know from previous posts that this isn't your position. Maybe you could post more often about teachers past and present that you have confidence in.
Not really, although I'm convinced that 99% of the folks that go to true gurus are still looking to escape themselves rather than face themselves, just as they are with false gurus.
Jody said...I'm convinced that 99% of the folks that go to true gurus are still looking to escape themselves...
I agree...hopefully we are not all deluding ourselves in believing we actually want to know the true self. But even if this is so, going to a true guru or a false one could be a step in the direction of wanting the truth.
For instance I may have gotten married to gratify sexual needs and get someone always there to love me, but in the process of being married I have been forced to face many hard truths. This has helped open my heart and mind to something beyond my original ego driven desire.
Good point, Robin. I have noticed quite a head of arrogance among people who claim that no Guru is needed and that anyone who feels that need is somehow weak. I don't believe Jody does this, but others do. In so doing they are often as cowardly as they think we are.
...Though I think Jody has his "anti-guru" biases. Saying this ..."looking to escape themselves rather than face themselves", as if it only applies to those
involved with a guru is misleading. It applies to everyone whether or not they have a guru.
My bias is anti-anyone who believes self-realization makes them anything special. A guru that lets you know s/he is no different than you is the best guru, because that is the utter truth of self-realization.
It applies to everyone whether or not they have a guru.
But the gurus who take advantage of this, who essentially practice psychotherapy without a license, are crooks and scammers, despite their seemingly good intentions.
J: My bias is anti-anyone who believes self-realization makes them anything special.
......ok, ok, how about...different? Essentially
there is no difference, ever. But practically,
there is a huge difference in the texture of
ones life before and after self-realization.
J: A guru that lets you know s/he is no different than you is the best guru,
.........Personal preference noted.
It is not what I would call a true or even accurate statement.
J: But the gurus who take advantage of this, who essentially practice psychotherapy without a license, are crooks and scammers, despite their seemingly good intentions.
.......I have no problem with them practicing
psychotherapy without a license. I can't call most of them crooks or scammers because I do believe that most of them have good intentions. To me the 'problem' is that the implication in their teaching work is that it is "spiritual work", ie: leading to self-realization, but it is only psychological work which in itself does not lead one in that direction..
