Meera Does Montreal

File under: Satsang Report and The Siddhi of PR

Our friend Swami Anandgyan went to see Mother Meera in Montreal. He returned with this report:
Mother Meera in Montreal... ...what you see is what you get.

Sure I wondered "who"'s going to see her, basically a Montrealer, and once there, you kinda try to settle down, sannyasin or not, just being present.

Tremendous turn-out, a full house though with hardly any Hindus, just two women I noticed...

When I heard that the seats in the middle section of the bottom rows were left vacant to allow the energy to flow (though not mandatory for the upper ones) I resented the kindergarten impression it left. [Ed.note: Make believe makes for a more "powerful" experience.]

Some young ones in the crowd, but mostly people in their forties, and just two faces I recognised and although we all seemed to be hankering for somethin' (I 'bought' the silent blessing), the procedure was done without uttering one word and at about fifteen seconds for each person, it would not have looked so machine-like if there would have been some variation, but no, same expression, or lack of it, all the time... I had not bowed to her yet, I was just glancing from afar, looking a the crowd that showed hardly any unity of purpose if not for receiving darshan. At one point, I felt a pressure against my chest, wondered if it was some sort of energy field around Mother but it vanished within a second and later on, it was as zen as waiting in line. Came the time when she was to look into my eyes... Well her's are quite nice but nothing happened, nada, no love, no smile, maybe she uttered a mantra (and I ought to trust Sanskrit as THE language for the divine) but fact is, and I looked at the crowd once more upon returning to my seat, just as for me, no one showed any sign of transformation as with soft tears, a radiant smile or a profound calmness, nah... nothing. I must be judgmental; what do I know really? Let's say the atmosphere had not improved one bit.

I got to my seat, put on my shoes, passed by the donation box and thought of sunyata and that I had just wasted my time.

So I'm still curious, sometimes cynical and somehow quite happy but I cannot recommend Mother Meera. I would do it again for Amma, at least it's not the gaze thing but a hug!

It didn't do me much good but it didn't do much harm.

Oh well, make love, not war.
You hardcore devi-junkies are going to blame the lack of anything happening on the Swami rather than on your precious object of love, but the fact is that anything that happens around Meera happens because you need it to happen. It's your subconscious shoving a pacifier in your mouth because you're so internally whiny. And because you have this need for something to happen, you aren't where the Swami is... yet.

One day, when you realize the Devi is inside each of us so much more than in any other person, you'll understand just how infantile the whole world-traveling devi circus really is.

I'd recommend extreme caution when judging others based on appearance.

(1) When I'm profoundly calm, I have no idea whether it's apparent to others. It's perfectly possible that I don't do the soft tears or radiant smile thing, but such outer expressions are different from inner calmness.

(2) When I'm NOT profoundly calm, it's not necessarily a sign that anything's wrong. If I'm angry or agitated, there may be ways to use the energy of these strong emotions to do something productive. Directing my agitation into helpful action may be just as good as rejecting it for the sake of a calm appearance.

Mother Meera is the real deal. A truly God awakened, God realized Being of the highest order.

She is an Avatar. The person who went to see her was so lucky. I have been wanting to see her for years and would love to soak up her presence. Also, I find her very sexy. I know you shouldn't mix spirituality with this, but she is sexy, a babe, not like that sour puss you always write about.

So for her to attract as many people as she does, and to be labeled an Avatar probably means she is something extraordinary. But this is just my opinion and you folks are entitled to yours.

And as far as Stuarts post, he makes a good point that you cannot judge by outer appearances.

But I am sure many show the outward signs of calm, peace, tears, radiance while in Mothers lovely presence.

The fact that she's got you swooning over her "truly God awakened" status means she's bent you over the table and is ramming a broomstick right up your ass as far as self-realization is concerned.

I have been wanting to see her for years and would love to soak up her presence.

You are soaking in the "presence" right now. There is no escape from it, no matter where you are or who you mistakenly believe has it more.

So for her to attract as many people as she does, and to be labeled an Avatar probably means she is something extraordinary.

No, it just means that there are many infantile needsters on the planet who are looking for salvation outside themselves. Meera is nothing more than a sugar pill.. or a mommy's tit so her "children" can get their space-mommy milk fix. Too bad it's nothing but empty calories as far as actual spiritual understanding is concerned.

I am sure many show the outward signs of calm, peace, tears, radiance while in Mothers lovely presence.

That's because they've conned themselves into believing there is something special about her "lovely presence." There is: your mistaken belief in that presence.

See the thing is, what I have a hard time understanding is why did this spiritual seeker go see Meera in the first place.

He already had a preconceived notion about her, had his doubts about her. Why bother even going to see this most lovely, sexy babe.

I want to be held in her lovely bosom, or is that Ammachi who does that. Well anyways, I would love to be around Meera in any way I could.

Even if I don't feel anything in her presence, she is nice to look at and has got to have some realization or presence that might rub off on me.

And how do you explain the other posters comment that he/she can see auras and Meera has a real strong one. I tend to believe this person. Or once again, how long could con men/women keep the game going when they have nothing real to offer.

To be labeled a Avatar is not an easy thing. Few ever get taken seriously for this. There must be something special about her, there has got to be, or else we are all fooled big time.

...............

Nirmila Devi, the Sour Puss Goddess was a looker herself 75 years ago before she let herself go, got big as a hog barn and those thingies started growing all over her neck!

The only babe I know of who still looks good as 75 is Ursala Andress, my first love! There is an Avatar!

Uh, isn't Afro Sai an "avaturd"? and, also, Meyer the baba? Didn't he duke it out with another avatar....or, no, it was that he set up a "system" that proclaimed "only ONE avaturd per generation" and, guess what????? HE was "the one"..imagine that! I think there is no shortage of avaturds and avaturds in training at the moment. In fact, all that is "required" to be an Avatar is to proclaim yourself one..or, if you are modest, you can get your followers to do it for you! Well, I know a Shivachariar who went to see Mother Meera and said what she is "doing" is removing karmas from people. Maybe they were very deeply hidden "past life karmas" so nobody realized what she was doing....thus no "soft tears" and "radiant smiles" of transformation...gag me with a spoon!
anonymously fed up with all of this bullshit.

the person who thinks MM is a "sexy babe" (cough) said:

Was Hitler a con man? He certainly had nothing real to offer, yet people slavishly followed him around for years! Even the famous filmmaker, Leni I can's spell her name, wrote that when you walked into the room to meet him in a small group, you felt overpowered by some great presence. She would plan to say one thing, then just keep quiet. She would leave feeling awe and admiration for him. She reported that he had this effect on many people -- like a kind of changing of the mind effect. This sounds sooooo familiar to me! But does it mean that Hitler had anything to offer that was good for anyone? He was talented. He could overpower people's minds.

I'm not saying that MM or many of the other spiritual people are like Hitler (although some are, imo), but the fact that you feel some great presence around someone doesn't make them God or even God's messenger. One must look very carefully when chosing a master or guide spiritually, and not get swayed by feelings and overwhelming presence, which can be exhibited by the worst of the worst as well as the best of the best.

That feeling has nothing to do with the spiritual journey, imo. It's just a feeling.

I agree with you anonyblade. Some of the most abusive and failed spiritual teachers I have known were the ones with the "juice". If you want to see and feel the shakti, go to a black penecostal church.

If you want to see and feel what is the opposite of shakti, attend the Dime Box First Baptist. It'll put you to sleep faster than a TM mantra!

It appears to me that people want to believe in MM simply because they want to believe that there is more to life than the shit we all got stuck with; wake up and smell the coffee.

If MM does it for you, best of luck. Whatever you have faith in. If she makes you feel better with her empty gaze, great.

Personally, I've never seen her, nor would I want to; why? because I get a great feeling of some great presence every day when I wake up and look into my partners eyes. What I'm saying is, I'm pretty happy with my life and have no reason to look for some form or spiritual rescue.

Each to there own.
