We find it perfectly fitting that a guru who used the press to self-promote as much as Sri Chinmoy gets a mention in an end-of-the-year article about those who've left this plane, appropriately entitled: "Artists, Entertainers Who Died in 2007."
Sri Chinmoy, 76. Indian-born spiritual leader; inspired followers to perform various athletic feats.We can't say we found his rigged lifting as being very artistic, or even that much of an entertainment. It certainly had nothing to do with self-realization, Chinmoy's or anyone else's.

Jody, incidentally its one year since i began contributing such
'invalid...err invaluable' comments here at GP. Its been such a learning experience. The three things that happened here to me as follows..
1. found out that iam a zombie
2. found out that i need not be a zombie.
3. found my guru here who can change my zombie status.
Besides diplaying my ignorance all the time, I must admit that I have learnt so much from you and other comment leavers here. Thank you jody, for tolerating me all the time.
This new year i have vowed to stay sober and eat that humble pie and see life as it unfolds. I might want to count the stars in the sky which i always wanted to do, but never did.
Great new year ahead for all the real and unreal gurus around the world, particularly to this dude, whom i found here at guruphiliac, whom now a days I consider as my guru. I wish to meet him on the new year's day and reveal my secret reverence for him. Im astonished to see that he remains sane, despite surrounded by the numerous criminals, dangerous mafiamen,the lusty women and the cunning politicians and this crackpot me, in the name of disciples..

I don't know how long I have been in this place but it sure seems I've known you more than one year.
