What Nithy Does For A Dude

File under: The Siddhi of PR

We'd like to direct your attention to the comments in our Nithyananda Blesses Arunachala With A New Orifice item of a few months ago. There you will see Swami Nithyananda's "Living Enlightenment" in all its full glory:
You don't have patience to even see what is said as this Jody has already shoveled all his shit on your third eye socket. Go wipe yourself clean...

I thought you don't have intelligence now you have proved you don't have memory either. Don't dare ever talk to me like that again. Go hit yourself against the wall 108 times and you will remember!

i think i wud die in shithole than getting initiated by a westerner like you! jerk? nice name you gave yourself by the way.. i love typing it jerk? remind yourself!
Hurry now, as they are deleting the evidence of their overwhelming anger and arrogance even as we write this. It's all in our email inbox at home, so perhaps we will continue to share more later.

What Jody Does For a Dude?

Here it goes which he types

[jody] Man, you are one piece of work. A masterpiece of assholery. You do your guru proud

[jody] I'm not Indian. I have taken initiation in a Vedantic lineage, but ultimately, I'm just some jerk who thinks he knows.

the rest of evidence is all over the blog. Nothing but abuse! You need to take anger management course

I meant for the person to think again and again 108 times. The other comments I or anyone associated with Nithyananda never made! You are again not talking facts and have grossly misunderstood what I've said.

I have made many statements that I regret. They were all out of a kind of frustration with the state of spiritual culture, which I see beset with a million wrong metaphors about nondual awareness. I directed my frustration at individuals who are emblematic of these metaphors, the "divine guru" metaphor being chief. But being human, sometimes I get caught up and end up the jerk. I am sorry for that.

However, everyone can see who went nuclear here, and it wasn't myself or Vikram. And it is reasonable to assume this is a reflection of what your guru is telling you. Or at the very least, a purposeful forgetting of what your guru may stand for. If you are a representative of the ashram, you are not doing yourselves any favors with this kind of discussion.

As someone who is a self-proclaimed expert and analyst of guru marketing, I recommend that you simply and calmly state the facts as you see them, and move on. This way, potential customers who are researching you online will see your lack of attachment to maintaining your image, outside of a calm attending to your facts.

All humans get emotional, even your guru. If we can cut each other a little slack for that, there'd be a lot less reason to.

Let the Swami know that I'm comping him on this one.

Right, and you provided a violent metaphor to make your point. It seems to communicate a clear message to me.

And Nithyananda does get emotional. We have seen that in lectures. Nothing wrong...but just that Guru's get emotional sometimes :)

Ofcourse..disciples think...these are divine emotions...

Jody this is a metaphor that is second nature to many Indians. It is something cultural that can be misunderstood. This again is your choice.

It is something cultural that can be misunderstood.

I'd put it this way: it is something neurological that is exploited by big-time gurus.

Nithyananda gives every appearance of doing just this. The inner-outer ideological layout is much more conducive to fostering ignorance, and keeping people around with promises of future spiritual glory.

You are not talking facts. Nithyananda always talks about the now. not about future glory of any kind.

Vivek doesn't even deserve a direct response from me, because his debate strategy consists of ad-hominem attacks.

For the public record: Jody once had called me over the phone after I left the ashram to get the "inside scoop". He will confirm that I actually said that I would not bite the hand that once fed, and despite whatever personal reasons I had for leaving, I wasn't interested in "dishing out dirt". It was a promise I made to myself when I left the ashram, and I have kept it.

I make my own choices, and don't allow Jody or anyone else to influence how I think, thank you very much. There is no collaborative anti-Guru "joint venture" here between Jody and I.

---

Swami most certainly has spoken about future glories, and any inner circle ashramite will confirm this.

In the very early days he used to speak of how they will have ashrams in pretty much every country in the world, even China, and how millions would throng to see him. Other times, he has even said that [in the future] the mission would become a religion. Of course all insiders always interpret this as coming from Divine vision beyond space-time constraints.

The early fundraising ashram plan brochures said "Avataric Mission". All believe they are working towards some utopian world vision.

These are all facts, not my imagination.

Some anonymous fellow posed me questions in the other post. Answering here.

[Fact] What made you think he is [an Avatar]? What made you think he is not? What changed? Was it external or internal?

I don't know what it was that made me believe he is an Avatar. Perhaps it was his charisma and magnetism. Perhaps it was my imagination and need to find a savior. Perhaps it was some 6th sense I have :)

There was no 180 degree swing to the other extreme, contrary to what you and Vivek seem to imagine. I just began to wonder if this Avatar ideal was useful for me. I started paying attention towards where it mattered more.

Can you list the items which one should fulfill so that you can recognize that person as Avatar?

Where did you get this list from? On what basis are you giving this list? Please quote absolute facts. ...

It is better you give facts based on Vedanta/Sruthi etc

Like I said in a previous reply, I don't know, maybe he is? So again, I didn't leave the ashram because I felt deceived by Avatarhood claims. I left for my own personal reasons which I will not disclose here.

These comments are now closed as well. Let Swami Nithyananda come and tell us himself whether or not he believes himself to be an avatar.
