Another "Love Guru" Goes Down In Flames

File under: Gurus Doin' Time and Hands Where They Don't Belong

Maybe it has something to do with global warming:
Bijan Anjomi, 64, was arrested Tuesday and made his first court appearance Wednesday on three counts of sexual assault based on complaints by two unidentified women, the Toronto Star reported Thursday.

The women, ages 27 and 37, told police they went to Anjomi's hotel room on separate occasions in 2006 for what they thought was personal coaching, after attending one of his $600 seminars, Constable Wendy Drummond said.
It must just be too hot in the world for these dirty old "gurus" now. Anjomi, PrakashakaBoomBoom and Kreepalu should all move to Antarctica, where they can practice their slithering up to each other to their hearts' content, out of reach of any more potential victims.

And alot of people must have said, "well, what did they expect... going to his hotel room?". I was thinking how confusing this whole thing can be..the sexual coercion by "spiritual masters". First, you suspend your usual street smarts and do something you would never normally do... like go to a hotel room for "personal coaching" (thinking personal self-protection couldn't possibly apply in this case); then, you sit there being groped or worse by "the guru", "enlightened master", "rinpoche", "lama", etc. etc. (and think..."I must be misunderstanding this; he couldn't possibly be doing what I think he's doing"); then you realize, yes, he really is just a guy with his hand down your shirt. And it makes you really angry...not only at the "guru" but at yourself, for being such a dupe that you believed the line. And "regular people" will say, "how could you be so naive?" and "spiritual people" will say, "how could you not see what a great blessing you were given?"...a no-win situation.

but only thing that still beats my understanding is how and why the case should come up so late?

Does it mean the babes were in such a bliss that they could not call the cops then?

Or is it the man asked for another 600 $ for some more gropin? The babes then woke up ?

In this case I suspect that each of the babes thought that they were the only ones to be touched by the dude -as it was told, till they exchanged notes in 2008. Then they figured everyone gets the same divine touch. Then the divine touch has become deadly groping ?

***I imagine it took alot of time for each one of them to get to the point of admitting what had happened..much less taking it to court...look at siddha yoga. 25 or 30 years after the fact, most of the women muktananda "initiated" are still too embarassed, freaked out and confused to come forward.

Does it mean the babes were in such a bliss that they could not call the cops then?
*** I doubt that there was much "bliss" involved frankly and"calling the cops" on "god" isn't so easy when you're in the middle of it and everyone is telling you the only problem is with your understanding.

**I doubt it. Have you ever actually talked to anyone who has been through this? it's quite an education.

:: I havent met one so far, but im sure if the 'vicitim' feels like shit now, then she should have felt the same then too, and if she/he felt that way I think she would not have given in. But they are so much obsessed with money and the wealth the guy promised that it did not feel too much like shit.

My strong feeling (and personal experience not in the guru business, but generally speaking)is the woman can always pretend holy after having played dirty.

Getting diddled as a child is one thing and allowing the groping is totally another. \

The babes decided to report, my thinking, is because they realized the promised wealth is not gonna happen/ and the 600 $ was meant for just being groped only. Thats the cause for the exposure. if they babes had their wealth as promised, i dont think this would have surfaced at all but would've become a unsung legend.

Just my point is it cant be so one sided but it is both ways. They are just partners in a sickening crime.

You have obviously never been raped before and therefore don't get the impact your words have on innocent women who get taken advantage of by "certified hypnotherapist guru's".

These are women who have to live the rest of their lives with this trauma so please be considerate to how you make others feel.

Uh, I guess I don't understand the agreement here...are you saying that the woman paid this "holy" man $600 for a private audience because he promised to make them even richer and then felt them up? And what they were angry about wasnt that they were groped by a celibate "holy" man but that "the promised wealth wasn't going to happen"?
I'm not really following you.
Sorry about your "personal experience". Maybe it has to do with seeing sexuality as "dirty" and other things as "holy" and calling women you have never met "babes" . This can lead to alot of confusion even for "holy" men.

Why don't you post my comment, are you sensoring the truth and you wants only devious comments

I'm filtering propaganda and repetition. Devious is reserved for PrakashakaBOOM and his dupes.

this is a crime with victims, the law can't look into their Karma, and that's not for us to do either. hopefully they learned a big lesson about the world. If it sounds too good to be true it's probably is. If you need to get your JUJU from an outside source you are probably pretty lost at that moment. Still this Fauxru is the crook here, abusing their trust and his authority and using a bait and switch. It's an old con , you see it on the news all the time, people get duped and then they are too embarrassed to admit they fell for it, add to that sexual humiliation and transgression and you've got a real toxic situation.

Hi stumbled on this post by accident ad I know its been here since a year....but htot i wud post my comment....well i have a personal experience here...as in my wife...It took a long time for my wife to open up and break down....i dont want to disclose identities but she was an ardent follower of a 'Godman' for years and during onne of her reqular visits...well she got called into his cabin...from that day..it took her more than 7 mnths to open up to me and break down....during the 7 mnths she went thru myriad of confronting and confusing emotions...for the initial 5-6 times she was not sure on what was happeneing...was this good or bad...was he preying on her...after all she was his follower for years and was mesmerized by him...and i guess the 'godman' first makes sure that the lady is fully mesmerized by him before preying on her....i know my wife ---a very very prim and proper, devoted wife and mother of 2....and this guy used her devotion to him / confusion etc etc to spread her legs...

Hi Guys I am caught in the middle of one of these experiences with this particular guru right now. A woman I have been in a relationship with for several years had been attending his seminars for a couple of years now, then all of a sudden went to a retreat of his and came back and ended things with me the next day. We've since been talking about a possible reconciliation, but as I learn more of his teachings, study his books, blogs and just seeing the cold transformation he managed to inspire in only a week, I'm extremely worried. If we end up getting back together, how can I best handle this without pushing her away, how do you get someone who believes there is no consequence to actions, who is being told to only think of herself instead of others? Ultimately how can I ween her off of dependance on this group BEFORE something really harmful happens??

HELP!
